Better Than Takeout Bacon Fried Rice

This bacon fried rice is smoky, savory, and packed with bold flavor in every bite. Crispy bacon, fluffy rice, and colorful vegetables stir-fry together in a rich soy-garlic sauce. It’s a quick, satisfying meal that tastes even better than your favorite takeout.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked rice preferably day-old
  • 6 slices bacon chopped
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables peas, carrots, corn
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving a little bacon fat in the pan.
  3. Add beaten eggs to the skillet and scramble until cooked.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and mixed vegetables and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add cooked rice to the skillet and stir well.
  6. Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil and mix until evenly coated.
  7. Return crispy bacon to the skillet.
  8. Toss everything together and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle sliced green onions and black pepper before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold leftover rice for the best fried rice texture.
  • Add shrimp or chicken for extra protein.
  • Adjust the soy sauce depending on your taste preference.
  • Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor.
