Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Method
 

  1. Toss sliced beef with cornstarch until lightly coated.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, sugar, and beef broth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  4. Stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned and remove from pan.
  5. Add onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Return beef to the pan.
  8. Pour sauce mixture over beef and vegetables.
  9. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  10. Drizzle sesame oil and stir gently before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly cracked black pepper for the best flavor.
  • Slice beef thinly for tender results.
  • Adjust pepper quantity to control spice level.
  • Serve immediately while hot and saucy.
