- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl mix cherries, ¾ cup sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
- Pour the cherry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter and mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Spoon the batter evenly over the cherry filling.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the topping becomes golden.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use tart cherries for a more balanced flavor.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
