Method
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat
- Add onion garlic carrots and celery then sauté until soft
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer
- Stir in shredded chicken cream thyme parsley rosemary salt and pepper
- In a bowl mix flour baking powder and salt
- Add milk and melted butter then stir to form soft dough
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering soup
- Cover and cook for 12–15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy
- Stir gently and serve hot
Notes
- Do not lift the lid while dumplings cook, or they won’t rise properly
- Use rotisserie chicken for faster prep
- Add peas or corn for extra flavor
- Adjust thickness by adding more broth if needed
- Fresh herbs can enhance the taste even more
