Ingredients
  

  • 300 g macaroni pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
  3. In a pan, melt butter and stir in flour to make a roux.
  4. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth and thick.
  5. Add cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan, then stir until melted.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  7. Mix cooked pasta with cheese sauce until well coated.
  8. Transfer to baking dish and top with breadcrumbs if using.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Use a mix of cheeses for a deeper flavor.
  • Do not overcook pasta before baking.
  • Add cooked bacon or chicken for variation.
  • Serve hot for the best creamy texture.
