Decadent Chocolate Cherry Cake

Ingredients
  

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup cherries pitted and chopped
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a bowl whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and milk.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  7. Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or jarred cherries, depending on availability.
  • Add a chocolate ganache topping for extra decadence.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake soft.
  • Store cake in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
