Dump and Bake Meatball Casserole Recipe

This dump and bake meatball casserole is the ultimate lazy-day comfort food. Juicy meatballs, tender pasta, and rich marinara sauce bake together with melted cheese for a hearty meal. Best of all, you simply mix everything in one dish and let the oven do the work.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups uncooked pasta penne or rotini
  • 2 cups frozen meatballs
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • cups water or beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large baking dish add uncooked pasta, frozen meatballs, marinara sauce, and water.
  3. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the mixture.
  4. Stir gently until everything is evenly combined.
  5. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes until the pasta becomes tender.
  7. Remove foil and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake another 10 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use homemade meatballs for extra flavor.
  • Stir the casserole halfway through baking if the pasta looks dry.
  • Add chopped spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrients.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
