French Onion Beef Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g ground beef
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef in a pan until browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in French onion soup mix and beef broth.
  4. In a bowl, mix sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add cooked noodles and beef mixture, then mix well.
  6. Transfer mixture to the baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
  8. Add crispy fried onions over the cheese layer.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use Swiss cheese for a more authentic flavor.
  • Do not overbake to keep it creamy.
  • Add mushrooms for extra depth.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
