Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup heavy cream or milk
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar for strawberries
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in heavy cream until a soft dough forms.
  5. Drop dough into 6 biscuit portions on the baking tray.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and set aside.
  8. Whip heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form.
  9. Split shortcake biscuits in half.
  10. Layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
  11. Place the top half back on and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor.
  • Chill whipping cream before beating for better volume.
  • Add lemon zest for a fresh citrus note.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
