Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan
- In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
- Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix until just combined
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Pour batter into prepared pan
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
- Let cool before slicing and serving
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for maximum flavor
- Do not overmix to keep the cake light and fluffy
- Add walnuts or pecans for crunch
- Top with frosting or powdered sugar if desired
- Store in an airtight container
