Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan
  2. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix until just combined
  5. Fold in chocolate chips
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
  8. Let cool before slicing and serving

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for maximum flavor
  • Do not overmix to keep the cake light and fluffy
  • Add walnuts or pecans for crunch
  • Top with frosting or powdered sugar if desired
  • Store in an airtight container
