Japchae Recipe with Perfectly Chewy Noodles

This Easy Japchae is a classic Korean dish featuring perfectly chewy sweet potato noodles tossed with savory beef, colorful vegetables, and a rich soy-sesame sauce. Ingredients
  

  • 200 g sweet potato noodles dangmyeon
  • 200 g beef thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cook sweet potato noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  2. Toss noodles with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and cook beef until browned, then set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
  5. Add carrot, bell pepper, and spinach, cooking until just tender.
  6. Return beef to the pan.
  7. Add cooked noodles, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil.
  8. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overcook noodles to keep them chewy.
  • Slice beef thinly for tenderness.
  • Adjust sweetness and salt to taste.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
