Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
In a bowl whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract and strawberry puree.
Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with milk.
Mix until the batter becomes smooth and well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake for 28–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool before slicing or frosting.
