Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for frosting
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk for frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until smooth.
  7. Fill cupcake liners about ⅔ full with batter.
  8. Bake for 16–18 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  10. Beat butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  11. Pipe or spread buttercream frosting onto cupcakes.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the cupcakes soft.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for better texture.
  • Add food coloring to frosting for decoration.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
