Walking Taco Casserole Fun Meal Recipe

This walking taco casserole turns the classic fairground snack into a fun, cheesy family dinner. Seasoned beef, crunchy chips, and melted cheese bake together for bold taco flavor in every bite. It’s quick, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup corn chips or crushed tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup black beans drained
  • ½ cup corn kernels
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sour cream optional topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Drain excess grease and stir in taco seasoning and salsa.
  4. Add black beans and corn and mix well.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the casserole dish.
  6. Sprinkle crushed chips over the beef layer.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and diced tomatoes.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
  9. Serve warm with sour cream or your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Use Doritos or flavored tortilla chips for extra flavor.
  • Top with lettuce, avocado, or green onions before serving.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
